They Call it 'Rainy Season' for a Reason

It is the rainy season in Belize, and we have been fortunate to enjoy many sunny days since we arrived. However, there have been a few storms too, and this latest one is a whopper. It started raining Sunday night and basically hasn't stopped since--we are enjoying the aqueous affections of Invest 95L. According to the Wikipedia entry,

"An invest in meteorology (short for investigation or to investigate, alternatively written INVEST) is a designated area of disturbed weather that is being monitored for tropical cyclone development."

Invest 95L, dominating the western Caribbean.
The cloud cover is so impenetrable, the photo sensor on the lights in the courtyard decided it was actually night. I took this picture at noon.

Lotsa rain! This is not the nice, gentle, temperate mist we are accustomed to. :)
We are all looking forward to sunnier weather in the days ahead!
